Frequently Asked Questions About Working With Nevermore Homeopathy

ClientFAQsNevermoreHomeopathy

Beginning homeopathic care often comes with questions. When should you reach out? What information should you share? Can you continue seeing your other practitioners? What happens if you become suddenly ill between appointments?

Here are answers to some of the questions I hear most often from clients.

How can I contact you?

You are welcome to contact me by email or text:

Email: kbrazhomeopath@gmail.com
Call or text: 970-639-1749

Please include your name, who needs support, and a brief description of what is happening. I may be with clients or caring for my family when you reach out, but I will respond as soon as I am able.

Homeopathic support is not an emergency service. If you believe you or your child may be experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or seek immediate medical care.

What is an acute concern?

An acute is a concern that begins suddenly and is generally short-term. Examples may include:

  • The early stages of a cold or flu-like illness
  • Fever
  • Sore throat, cough, or ear discomfort
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • A minor injury, bruise, or sprain
  • An insect bite or sting
  • A sudden rash or skin eruption
  • An unexpected emotional fright, grief, or shock

An acute consultation focuses on what is happening right now. This is different from chronic care, which considers long-standing or recurring patterns throughout the whole person.

When should I reach out about an acute concern?

Reach out when symptoms begin—especially if they are unusual, intense, changing quickly, or you are unsure what to do next. Acute cases are best taken when the details are fresh and the current symptom picture is clear.

If you are already a client, please do not wait until your next scheduled follow-up to tell me about a significant new illness, injury, medication, diagnosis, or change in your overall health.

How do I request acute support?

Email, call, or text me using the contact information above. Please include:

  • The name and age of the person needing support
  • When the concern began
  • What happened just before it began, if known
  • The main symptoms
  • Whether symptoms came on suddenly or gradually
  • What makes the symptoms better or worse
  • Temperature, thirst, appetite, energy, sleep, and mood changes
  • Any medications, remedies, supplements, or home treatments already used
  • Any diagnosis or medical evaluation received
  • Whether you are waiting for, or have already sought, medical care

A clear message helps me determine whether an acute consultation is appropriate and how quickly we should connect.

Acute consultations are generally 30 minutes and may include up to one week of support for that specific concern. A new or unrelated concern may require another consultation.

What information is especially helpful in an acute case?

In homeopathy, the individual details matter. Two people with the same diagnosis may experience it very differently.

Helpful observations may include:

  • Is the person hot, chilly, sweaty, restless, clingy, irritable, fearful, or unusually quiet?
  • Are they thirsty or not thirsty?
  • Does warmth, cool air, movement, rest, pressure, or a particular position help?
  • Is there a specific time of day when symptoms are worse?
  • What does the pain or discomfort feel like?
  • Did the symptoms begin after exposure, stress, lack of sleep, an injury, grief, fright, or another noticeable event?
  • What changes to the typical demeanor/temperament have taken place?

You do not need to have perfect answers. Simply tell me what you are noticing.

When should I seek conventional medical care?

Homeopathy should not replace necessary medical evaluation, diagnosis, monitoring, medication, or emergency treatment.

Please seek urgent or emergency care for warning signs such as:

  • Difficulty breathing, blue lips, or severe wheezing
  • Chest pain
  • Signs of stroke
  • Loss of consciousness, confusion, or a seizure
  • A severe allergic reaction
  • Uncontrolled bleeding
  • A serious injury or suspected broken bone
  • Severe dehydration
  • A stiff neck with severe headache or fever
  • Symptoms of poisoning or overdose
  • Suicidal thoughts or an immediate mental health crisis
  • Any symptom that feels severe, frightening, or unsafe to manage at home

Parents and caregivers should trust their instincts. If something seems seriously wrong, please seek medical care rather than waiting for a homeopathic response.

Can I use homeopathy alongside conventional medical care?

Yes. Many clients use homeopathy as part of a broader, coordinated approach to their health.

Please continue medications as prescribed. Do not stop, reduce, or change a prescription medication without discussing it with the licensed clinician who manages it. Let me know about new medications, dose changes, procedures, diagnoses, vaccines, or other significant changes so I can understand the complete picture.

Whenever possible, tell each member of your healthcare team which complementary products and practices you use. This supports safer, better-coordinated care.

Which complementary approaches are often compatible with homeopathic care?

Many supportive practices can generally be used alongside homeopathy when they are appropriate for the individual and performed safely. These may include:

  • Medical and dental care
  • Mental health counseling or psychotherapy
  • Physical or occupational therapy
  • Gentle movement, stretching, or yoga
  • Massage therapy
  • Chiropractic care
  • Acupuncture
  • Breathwork, meditation, and relaxation practices
  • Appropriate nutrition and hydration
  • Sleep and sensory support
  • Time outdoors and other gentle lifestyle practices
  • Cell salts or flower essences when selected thoughtfully

“Natural” does not automatically mean risk-free. Suitability depends on the person, the practitioner, the specific technique, and the health concern being addressed.

Please tell me about the other practitioners you see and the therapies you are using. This helps us recognize what may be contributing to changes and avoid making too many changes at once.

What about herbs, supplements, essential oils, or over-the-counter products?

These may sometimes be used alongside homeopathy, but they deserve more individual consideration because they can produce their own effects, cause side effects, or interact with medications.

Please let me know before beginning or substantially changing:

  • Herbal products
  • Vitamins or high-dose supplements
  • Hormones
  • CBD or cannabis products
  • Internal use of essential oils
  • Detoxes, cleanses, or restrictive diets
  • Over-the-counter medications
  • Medicated topical products

You may not need to avoid these products altogether. I simply need to know what you are using, why you are using it, and when it was started.

Do I need to avoid coffee, mint, or essential oils?

Not every client needs a long list of restrictions. Please continue your normal routines unless specific recommendations are discussed.

Strong substances or significant changes can sometimes make it harder to evaluate your response clearly. If you use coffee, mint, mentholated products, essential oils, cannabis, or other strongly acting substances regularly, tell me during your consultation. We can make an individualized plan rather than assuming that everything must be stopped.

What should I do after taking a remedy?

Unless we have discussed otherwise:

  • Take only the recommended remedy, potency, and dose.
  • Observe before repeating.
  • Avoid adding several new remedies or products at the same time.
  • Make a note of changes in symptoms, sleep, energy, mood, appetite, pain, and overall well-being.
  • Contact me if symptoms change significantly or you are unsure whether to repeat the remedy.
  • Seek medical care if symptoms become severe or concerning.

More is not always better. Repeating a remedy too frequently can make the case more difficult to assess.

Can I treat myself between appointments?

While under chronic care, no other homeopathic products should be used unless discussed first. This will ensure best outcomes and tracking progress in the case. Multiple homeopathic remedies on board can confuse your body or be too much.

Many families keep commonly used remedies at home for simple, familiar concerns. However, please contact me when:

  • You are unsure which remedy fits
  • The concern is intense or progressing
  • A remedy helped briefly but symptoms returned
  • You have tried more than one remedy without clear improvement
  • The same concern keeps recurring
  • The person has a complex medical history
  • A medically vulnerable individual is involved
  • You are unsure whether medical evaluation is needed

If there is no meaningful change, pause rather than cycling through remedy after remedy.

What is the difference between acute and chronic care?

Acute care addresses a recent, short-term concern. Injury, surgery recovery, sudden grief, illness, etc. Consultations are 30 minutes and typically we should see significant improvement in about a week.

Chronic care explores persistent, recurring, or interconnected patterns over time. These may include concerns involving sleep, digestion, skin, hormones, mood, energy, recurring illnesses, menstrual cycles, long-standing pain, or family health patterns. Consultations are 90 minutes and thorough to understand the nuances of your experiences.

If the same “acute” problem keeps returning, it may be part of a deeper chronic pattern and may be better addressed through a full intake.

How can I get the most from homeopathic care?

The most helpful thing you can do is communicate openly. Please tell me about:

  • Changes in symptoms or overall well-being
  • New diagnoses, medications, or treatments
  • Major stresses or life events
  • Remedies or supplements you have taken
  • What improved, even if it seems unrelated
  • What worsened or remained unchanged
  • Strange, rare, and peculiar symptoms
  • Any questions or concerns you have about the care plan

You are the expert on your own lived experience. My role is to listen carefully, look for meaningful patterns, and help you navigate your homeopathic care thoughtfully. Health History and a Head to Toe evaluation during the initial consultation and revisited as needed.

Still have a question?

Please reach out. I would much rather have you ask than feel uncertain about what to do.
